Go Bananas in 2014!

Salt, fat and sugar aside, people love fast food because it’s…well…FAST!!! We live in a fast moving world where we anticipate immediate satisfaction. We text, instant message, Facebook, email and call our friends and expect an instant reply! Over the next few weeks I will post some tasty, healthy, and cruelty free “fast food,” carbohydrate rich options that will leave you satisfied in your body and soul! Now that’s my kind of “fast food.”

Today’s fabulous fast food option is the humble banana. Bananas are high in potassium. They have around 600 mg per medium banana. Why is potassium important? This unassuming mineral helps your muscles function properly, as well as aiding your digestive system do its thing better. Bananas also have the vitamins A, B, E, K and C, as well as folic acid.
